How we use Flodesk to manage all our Sales Funnels and Automations

While social media is great for visibility, email is where we truly nurture relationships, build trust, and where we see our audience take the next step. Over the past few years since launching our membership community for women in menGolden Brands, email marketing has been our highest converting platform, responsible for mbusiness – ore than 90% of our membership sales.

Today I wanted to take you behind the scenes and show you exactly how we use Flodesk for our sales funnels and automations.

Let’s start with a look at our Sales funnel

Our sales funnel for Golden Brands is actually very simple but effective. We have tested and trialled various more complex sales funnels but keep coming back to this one straightforward funnel (because it works!). We’ve focused on building out a funnel for Golden Brands that feels personal, intentional and most importantly easy to follow!

Here’s how it works:

We promote 2-3 lead magnets in between launch periods. Through Flodesk we have landing pages set up for each lead magnet. We actively promote these across socials and on occasion through Meta ads.

  • Through Flodesk we have email sequences (aka workflows) set up for each lead magnet. This takes potential leads through a series of emails to add more value in relation to the lead magnet they have downloaded and to share more about Golden Brands. Our Business Plan template has been our most popular lead magnet to date. It is highly relevant to our audience and naturally leads into what we have to offer at Golden Brands.
  • The email sequence ends with an invitation to join our waitlist (that we have set up through Flodesk).
  • We also use Flodesk pop ups for our website to actively promote the waitlist

  • We then go into a sales launch period every 3-4 months and during this period we send out a series of emails to those on our waitlist (normally with some added bonuses for the waitlist!)

It’s that simple and through Flodesk we are able to track our warm leads and stay on top of the effectiveness of our sales funnel going into a doors open period for the membership.

On occasion we will also add in ‘events’ in the lead up to doors open period which could include an online webinar or challenge for example. This again is set up through Flodesk with a dedicated landing form for sign up and a workflow of emails specific to the challenge or webinar attendees have signed up for.

All of our email campaigns have been built with Flodesk templates that we have customised and branded. We make over 90% of our sales through email marketing alone thanks to the simple yet very effective sales funnel that I shared earlier.

Final thoughts and tips for building a funnel…

✨ Keep it simple (like super simple!)

You don’t need complicated automations, 20+ emails, and all the upsells. Start with one great lead magnet, a few high-value emails, and a clear CTA to help your leads take the next step.

Connection is KEY
The goal of your emails isn’t just to sell — it’s to build trust. Every email should feel like a conversation, not a sales pitch. If all your emails are promotional based you will quickly lose the interest and trust from your audience.

Use the right tools
Tech isn’t my strong point! Flodesk have eliminated that issue and the lack of design/tech skills I possess by providing all the tools I needed within their platform to easily build our funnels and automations.

Be consistent
Email marketing works best when you show up regularly. Even between launches, you need to be emailing frequently. I’d recommend weekly if you can or at least fortnightly to start with. Use a mix of email content and check your analytics to see what’s performing best.

Adjust and optimise as you go.
Your funnel doesn’t have to be perfect from day one – as I mentioned I’ve trialled every option under the sun for our funnels.Track what’s working and tweak what’s not.

The goal here is to guide your leads on a journey that feels natural and aligned with the value you have to offer. Keep it personal, genuine and simple – that’s where the magic happens.
