It’s been an incredible 12 months today since I started working on Golden Brands, and what a journey it has been! As I reflect on this milestone, I can’t help but feel grateful for the tremendous support and opportunities that have come my way.
When I started GB, I knew it would be a platform to empower others, but little did I know just how much it would empower me as well. Our fantastic community and access to inspiring business owners have fuelled my personal growth and fortified my determination to pursue my dreams for this platform.
Your kind words of encouragement and unwavering support along the way have meant the world to me.
This business was born out of the understanding that the entrepreneurial journey can be incredibly challenging, especially when faced alone. Despite having started three businesses prior, I can assure you that the challenges we encounter remain remarkably similar. I am right there in the trenches with you, working tirelessly to build a successful business.
What I’ve realised is that we all face common hurdles, but together, we can absolutely move past them.
In the spirit of transparency, I want to share with you what the journey has looked like for Golden Brands over the past year in terms of our finances and milestones reached. While we officially launched the membership in November of 2022, I had been investing in its creation for several months leading up to that. To date, I have spent a total of $51,900 on Golden Brands.
Some of you may consider this a substantial investment and others might wonder where I found the funds! Those of you who have been with me since day one know that I had a contracting job initially, which I had to quit sooner than expected due to the workload associated with launching and growing this business. I poured all my energy and resources into making this membership the best it can be, using all my savings and even borrowing money to keep it moving forward.
I understand that such a leap may not be for everyone, but I am confident, without a shadow of a doubt, that Golden Brands will continue to thrive. I believe the potential for growth is immense, and the impact we can make on small business owners across New Zealand and Australia is truly profound.
To be completely transparent I wanted to show you behind the scenes of the growth of Golden Brands and I wanted to share with you our May Profit & Loss statement and the significance this holds.
May is the first month that we have broke even. While I’m committed to putting everything back into the business during this growth stage and I’m yet to generate an income from the business I know that this is just the start of our sales exceeding our monthly expenses. You might be thinking Lisa it’s only $251 BUT this is the first month we are not thousands in the red. Which means less money that I have to personally find to put into the business.
I know this is just the start and I do believe it will only be a matter of time before we are reaching big financial milestones and I’ll be able to start paying myself a salary.
Let’s take a quick look at what the past 12 months have looked like:
- Working with so many incredible professionals to help bring Golden Brands together from copywriters to business coaches.
- Seeing our members support one another and work together in so many ways. From collaborations to purchasing each other’s products/services.
- Having 3 sell-out events, with many more in the pipeline.
- Having the opportunity to work with so many incredible industry experts that I have admired and followed throughout my business journey.
- Seeing our members make incredible progress in their business through the support of the Golden Brands community, training and resources.
- Reaching over 50 members!
As small business owners I believe we need to be recognising all the milestones we hit in business, all those small wins and goals reached along the journey.
“Success is the sum of small steps repeated day in and day out”
Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey with Golden Brands. Your continual support, feedback and success stories are what make it all worthwhile.
